MOW&M Volunteers Relieve the Burden of Cooking with Daily Meal Delivery

February 28, 2017

Volunteers for the Partnership's Meals on Wheels & More program bring relief to many throughout Morgan County with a daily delivery of a hot meal, a smile and conversation.  For 325 Meals on Wheels & More recipients, the delivery means they are able to enjoy a hot, nutritious meal without the burden of cooking and cleaning up.  Recipients of MOW&M services are eligible through recommendations of their physicians based on their physical and mental abilities (or disabilities).  For many, the weekday visits are the only contact with anyone else all day.  Volunteers are able to monitor recipients' physical and mental health with their short visits and brief conversations and often report clients' needs for additional services, such as home repairs and lawn care.
