The Low-Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP) was offered a repreive from President Trump's proposed 10% cut by the recent passing of the federal budget.  But the reprieve is only temporary with next year's budget debate looming in the fall.  Many income-eligible residents depend on LIHEAP funds to help through both heating and cooling season when weather extremes take a larger bite out of already-strapped incomes.  

The Partnership assisted more than 3300 households last year with an average award of $350.  More than 62% of assisted households had an elderly member (60 years of age or older), 58% had a member who was disabled and nearly 4 out of 5 households assisted last year had a family member who was elderly, disabled or included young children younger than 6 years of age.
