Governor Awards $1.8 Million to Partnership for Energy Assistance

Governor Robert Bentley awarded energy assistance grants on Friday to assist income-eligible families with their home energy bills.  As one of 22 Community Action agencies in the state, the Partnership will receive almost $1.8 Million to serve qualifying residents in Morgan, Cullman and Lawrence counties.  Eligibility for assistance is based on a variety of factors, including family size, annual income and available resources.  Priority for energy assistance is given to the elderly, those with disabilities and families with young children.  Applications for utlitity assistance are completed through the Partnership by appointment only.  If approved, funds are distributed directly to the client's utility provider.

Phone and online scheduling are expected to open no later than Tuesday, December 6th.
