Addiction Resources

Alabama has not been immune to the effects of the national opioid crisis, and rates for substance abuse throughout the state reveal a widespread need for addiction treatment. High-quality programs offer inpatient and outpatient therapy to help Alabama residents find successful recovery.  Addiction Campuses provides comprehensive addiction treatment programs across the country, offering therapy for addiction to illegal drugs, prescriptions drug and alcohol.  Addiction does not discriminate, and residents in all 50 states struggle with abuse and addiction issues. Though seeking treatment near home may be more convenient, finding the treatment program which best fits your needs may require going to another state. Visit Addiction Campuses to find drug or alcohol rehab centers by state.

Addiction Center LogoMaking the decision to find a detox center or drug or alcohol rehab is the first step toward a new, healthy life.  No matter where you live, there is a drug rehab center that can help you overcome your addiction. AddictionCenter.com can help you find treatment based on your location, budget, and specific needs.  AddictionCenter.com is a referral service that provides information about addiction treatment practitioners and facilities. AddictionCenter.com is not a medical provider or treatment facility and does not provide medical advice.

Addiction Resource was founded in 2014 to provide a community for those recovering from addiction and to help patients find the highest quality care for a successful recovery. The goal is to provide resources to help patients and their loved ones so that they may stay on the road to recovery, and can successfully overcome addiction for life. AddictionResource believes in its ability to help improve the lives of others.   Addiction Resource is not a treatment center and does not accept payments or advertising offers. Instead, they work to provide free resources to help people better understand their addiction and motivate them to make the first step in seeking support.

Alcohol Addiction Center logoThe first step towards solving a teenage alcohol problem is to recognize that there is a problem. Not every parent is ready to come to terms with the fact that drinking is endangering your child’s life. Once parents admit that their teen is a problem drinker, a dialogue can be opened with him or her. Perhaps a mutually agreed upon solution can be reached. If not, and the problem continues or exacerbates, and the family can move forward to seeking professional help.  The Alcohol Addiction Center can help parents with teens with alcohol addiction find a treatment program that best suits them.

Alltreatment.com is a community-based public-benefit website connecting people to the addiction resources they need. This resource is free to the public.   The majority of existing treatment centers do not accept teens under the age of 18, and parents are having a hard time finding local treatment options for their children.  All Treatment has combined the government's national rehab center database (SAMHSA) with modern location technology to help solve this problem.  The Find Teen Rehab Centers Near You technology uses your location to generate a local listing of all the teen rehab centers in and around your community.  Also available to parents are the latest statistics on addictive behaviors such as video gaming, warning signs to look for, and other resources related to addiction.

Black Note is "in business to go out of business."  Their mission holds true because their idea of a smoke-free world is one in which people quit smoking and vaping altogether. Smoking is bad for your health. Horrible for the environment. And, it even puts your kids, pets and clean clothes at risk with all that second-hand smoke. But no matter how much knowledge you amass on this habit, you still keep lighting that next cigarette. What gives?  Being educated on the dangers of smoking is good, but sometimes it’s not enough to break the smoking habit.  Nicotine is a highly addictive drug that may have a bigger hold on you than you may have imagined. That doesn’t mean, however, it can’t be beat. That’s what this page is all about.

Here you’ll find tons of information, resources and even a story contest for those interested in quitting smoking to reclaim your independence today.

As of July 1, 2018, approximately 2,212 U.S. college and university campuses are now entirely smoke-free, according to data provided by the American Nonsmokers’ Rights Foundation. A majority of these institutions (1,853 in total) are also completely tobacco-free, and 1,790 of them report that they have eliminated the use of e-cigarettes, too.

This is obviously great news for those who are trying to stop this potentially deadly behavior, but why is the issue of smoking among college students so important?  Check out Maryville University's facts on smoking among college students to learn more.

Inpatient rehab programs allow someone facing a drug or alcohol addiction to get treatment tailored to their individual needs. These residential programs address a wide variety of substance use disorders and provide patients with comprehensive and compassionate care. By living on-site at the treatment facility, patients are removed from the temptations and triggers of their former life and settled into a positive and supportive environment. Should a crisis arise, patients participating in an inpatient program have immediate access to the accountability and encouragement from the highly-trained staff of the rehab center, which is sometimes exactly what a person needs for a successful recovery.  RehabCenter.net provides a listing of inpatient rehab centers across the country by state.

RehabSpot connects individuals struggling with addiction to treatment options in the local area and across the nation in addition to providing information on substance abuse.  The goal is to lessen the stigma of addiction and help those who are struggling to find treatment.
