To improve the quality of life year-round for Madison County residents in need by providing services at no cost. The mission of Christmas Charities Year Round is for Madison County residents at or below the area median income or in emergent need, to provide basic necessities year-round at no cost, provide year-round distribution of clothes, school supplies, household items, furniture and Assistive Technology medical equipment at no cost, provide year-round delivery of clothing to children at schools at no cost, and distribute food and gifts to children and families during the Christmas season at no cost.
Hope House assists the elderly, medically disadvantaged, and poverty-stricken residents with responsible financial assistance for such items as utility bills and other housing expenses. The Hope House stands alone in this region as a resource center designed to directly impact our community on a case by case basis. Through this ministry we have committed ourselves to "stand in the gap" in times of need for our neighbors, friends, family, and community.
The Huntsville Assistance Program is a group of Christian congregations who desire to provide a ministry of assistance and referrals to needy individuals and families of Madison County, Alabama. This ministry focuses on the non-homeless and strives to achieve its mission by the pooling of volunteers, information, and financial resources of its members.
The Jasper Area Family Services Center is an array of programs in the Jasper Area geared towards strengthening families and breaking the cycle of poverty. The experience and expertise of staff at the Center provides access to many ways to help families in Walker County and surrounding areas.
Manna House is a 501(c)3 Public Charity that provides food assistance to those in need. We are supported by contributions from individuals, churches, civic groups, and businesses. While some food is donated and locally grown most is purchased for our distribution programs.
SaveFirst, sponsored by the University of Alabama-Huntsville and University of North Alabama, offers FREE certified tax preparation and electronic filing services for working families and individuals. SaveFirst provides these services for households earning up to $55,000 with children, or up to $20,000 without children. Appointments begin mid-January.
